Mamoweenene Initiative

Mamoweenene means "We Move Together".

M.I.C. Cultural Center

The Initiative

The future of M.I.C. has been envisioned by its founders for several years.

One of the main needs of many Indigenous people of Long Island is a central location to come to that is safe and for Indigenous people primarily. A place to hold socials, ceremonies, historic and cultural classes, a place to freely be who we are as Indigenous people.

It is the goal of M.I.C. to establish a central Cultural Center on Long Island that is accessible to the Indigenous people of this land. Satellite Locations on the East End, central Long Island, and the Queens and Brooklyn areas are also part of this vision.
